12th February 2006 Windsurfing: Hayling Island Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: 3-4 bft Surf / Sea State: swell then flat Air Temperature: 6c Sea Temperature: warmer than Brog Weather: rain rain rain Max Speed: Distance Covered: Took a chance woke up and though need to get out on the water. I have rejoined oceanmotion this year as the roadworks on the M25 are finished(they are starting on the M1 now lasting for nearly 3 years) Arrived at hayling meeting up with a couple of other mad souls just before high tide with a good force 5 blowing with rain and a very nasty looking shore dump. The rain eased a little as the high tide came and went and the wind went for a while too. The wind came back but it was marginal on a 7m for a couple of hours then comfortable planning after that. When the wind was marginal it was very hard work staying up wind as the wind was with the tide. An average day would of been nice with a bit more wind less rain and warmer! |
